A Bright Store is a digitally enabled kirana or retail outlet that serves both walk-in and online customers using StoreKing's Retail OS. It combines physical retail with digital convenience. The name comes as the opposite of "Dark Stores"—which are hidden, online-only warehouses—whereas Bright Stores are visible, customer-facing, and built for both offline and online retail growth.

Role Summary
The Marketing Officer at StoreKing plays a critical role in driving on-ground retailer acquisition and enabling them to adopt and succeed as Bright Stores. This is a field-intensive role focused on generating leads, engaging directly with retailers, and converting them into active partners on StoreKing's AI-powered Retail Operating System (ROS). The individual will be responsible for creating strong local market presence, educating retailers about the Bright Store concept, and ensuring smooth onboarding and activation. The role requires a combination of field sales execution, relationship building, and a deep understanding of retail or B2B selling in a fast-paced, target-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
Revenue Ownership
- Drive end-to-end field sales: lead generation → store visits → product demo → closure
- Acquire retailers, distributors, and SMEs onto StoreKing's Bright Store platform
- Own and achieve monthly acquisition and revenue targets
Field Execution & Market Development
- Conduct daily field visits to identify and onboard potential retailers
- Build strong relationships with local retailers and business owners
- Create awareness about StoreKing and drive adoption in assigned territories
Sales Funnel & Pipeline Management
- Build and maintain a strong pipeline of prospective retailers
- Track lead-to-closure conversions and ensure consistent follow-ups
- Improve conversion rates through effective pitch and engagement
Customer Onboarding & Activation
- Ensure smooth onboarding of retailers onto the Bright Store platform
- Support initial setup, activation, and first transactions
- Drive repeat usage and engagement from onboarded retailers
Customer Relationship Management
- Maintain strong relationships with retailers to ensure retention
- Identify opportunities for upselling and cross-selling
- Act as the first point of contact for retailer queries and support
What We're Looking For
- Fresher–1 years of experience in field sales / marketing / business development / merchant acquisition
- Background in POS, SaaS, Retail, FMCG, Telecom, Fintech, or similar on-ground sales roles
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage with retailers and business owners
- Ability to explain and sell digital / tech solutions (POS / SaaS / app-based platforms)
- Good understanding of local market and retailer ecosystem
- Fluency in regional language + basic English communication
- Target-driven mindset with ability to achieve daily, weekly, and monthly targets
- Comfortable with field work, store visits, and local travel
- Basic knowledge of smartphone apps, digital tools, and online ordering platforms
- Strong follow-up, negotiation, and closure skills
- Self-motivated, proactive, and ability to work independently on the ground
- Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
